About the Recipe
Both of us here at Respawn Inn absolutely love cinnamon rolls. They are popular in games like Baldur's Gate and many cozy games or baking sims too. All it takes is some delicious enriched dough, sugar, butter and, of course, cinnamon. Once you make your first round of cinnamon buns, you will never want to bake anything else!

Ingredients
Dough
100g butter
200ml milk
1 tsp salt
500g strong white bread flour
1 sachet (7g) instant yeast
4 tbsp caster sugar
2 eggs (alternatively use 2-3 tbsp plain yoghurt)
Optional- 1 tsp of nutmeg, cardamom or cinnamon
Filling
75g butter
100g caster sugar (or a mix of caster and brown sugar)
2-3 tbsp cinnamon
1 egg or a splash of milk
Topping
150g butter
3 tbsp caster sugar
300g cream cheese
Preparation
Warm the butter, salt and milk in a saucepan until the butter has melted. Put to one side to cool slightly. You don’t want to add hot milk to the dry ingredients as it’ll kill the yeast.
Sift together the flour, yeast and sugar in a large bowl. Include the spices here if you require them.
Add your warm milk and butter, and your eggs (or yoghurt). If your milk is too hot it will cook the eggs so make sure it’s just warm to the touch.
Use a little oil on the work surface to stop the dough sticking. Knead the dough for around 8 minutes until smooth and less sticky.
Put the dough into a bowl and cover. Leave it in a warm place for up to two hours or until it has doubled in size.
Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, and half the sugar and cinnamon together.
Combine the other half of the sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
When the dough is ready, rolll it out into a rectangle (or as close as you can get it!) of about 36x24cm.
Spread the cinnamon butter mixture over the dough.
Roll the dough into a cylinder and cut it into even slices. You should get between 8 to 12, depending on how you roll it and how thin the dough is. It’s up to you!
Place each piece on a greased and lined tray with a little room between them so they can expand a bit, or into cupcake cases, or into a greased muffin tin.
Set aside to prove for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200C, 180C fan, gas mark 6.
Brush the tops with egg wash or milk. Dust with the remaining cinnamon sugar mix.
Bake for up to 15 minutes (if they’re smaller they will need less time!)
Leave to cool for a while then add your topping. We love cream cheese frosting (just beat the ingredients together and spread on the buns!) but they’re also perfect without anything at all.
